TMLDA
at TLA Annual Assembly
The TMLDA Board will meet at Annual Assembly on Monday, July 12, 2004,
1:30-3:30 p.m. in Hill Country B at the Hyatt. Items that will be discussed
include TMLDA participation at the TML Annual Conference in Corpus Christi
in October, Nominating Committee, and TMLDA Awards, including the new
Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award. Information on TLA Annual

TML Conference
The TML Annual Conference will be held October 27-29, 2004 in Corpus
Christi. TMLDA will again have a booth on the exhibit floor – a great
way for you to volunteer and to meet face to face with elected and appointed
officials from around the state. TMLDA will also present awards and
sponsor a program about RFID on Thursday, October 28, 2004, from 10:30-12
noon. Housing for TML conferences are assigned by a lottery system.
Requests for housing must be submitted by August 13, 2004. For additional

Nominating
Committee
The Nomination Committee will be working on a slate of officers for
2004/2005. If you would like to serve on the committee or are interested
in being an officer or serving on the TMLDA Board please contact Beth
Scudder at bscudder@mckinneytexas.org.
Officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and
TML Board Director.
Awards
TMLDA presents three awards at the TML Annual Conference. Please start
thinking now about worthy nominees. Information on each award may be
found at the TMLDA website www.tmlda.org. The awards are the Administrator
of the Year Award, Outstanding Supporter of Libraries Award, and Library
Director of the Year Award.
New
Award: Achievement of Excellence in Libraries
TMLDA has developed a new award to showcase the many wonderful services
provided by Texas public libraries. The Achievement of Excellence in
Libraries Award is presented to any TMLDA member library that demonstrates
it provides excellent service to customers. Check out the criteria for
the award at the TMLDA website at www.tmlda.org/awards.htm.
This is an award that will show your elected and appointed officials
what great services your library is providing to the public.
